Heart of Glass: It is inside us all.

The Story So Far...

My dolls' story is set in the wonderful world of JK Rowling. However, it begins in Victorian London-- in the 1880s, to be precise-- before Tom Riddle was born, before any of the events in the Harry Potter series.

Silenus Snape is a member of the Snape family, a bloodline bound to tradition; all its witches and wizards were members of House Slytherin. Silenus, however, though he was sorted into Slytherin (he graduated from Hogwarts with honors) is the family black sheep, and his fascination with the Muggle world one day leads him to break with his family forever.

While exploring the streets of Muggle London, Silenus' eye is caught by a most striking edifice. He wonders how such a building could have been erected without magic and wanders curiously inside. Within he finds a riot of shapes and imagery: colored windows, strange statues. The building is a Catholic church, and Silenus is, incredibly, converted to Catholicism. He decides to leave the Wizarding World and become a priest. His family, of course, immediately disowns him, and he is forbidden to use magic for the rest of his life.

Silenus does become a priest. However, one day, his life undergoes another complete change, when he spies a stranger walking down Piccadilly with a lily in his hand. That stranger is none other than Oscar Wilde-- yes, the Oscar Wilde-- and Silenus falls instantly in love with him.

Silenus, of course, has obstacles to overcome before he and Oscar can be together. For one thing, he is torn between his faith and his desire. For another, someone from his past suddenly reappears-- or "reapparates", I should say-- in his life: his old friend Algernon Potter. Algernon is not happy with Silenus' new vocation. Nor is he happy with Silenus' fascination with that dandy Wilde. For Algernon has decided that Silenus' devotion should be-- not for God, not for Oscar Wilde, but for Algernon himself.

But Silenus' love is true, and eventually, through luck and perseverance, he and Oscar are united.

Yet Oscar already has a lover-- the spoiled rotten Bosie (Lord Alfred Douglas), and Bosie is not pleased with his new rival. Chance, however, throws him together with Algernon Potter, and the two of them team up. They try their best to destroy Oscar and Silenus. Now that they can't have them, no one can! Due to their unscrupulous efforts, both of our heroes face harsh prison sentences, but at the last minute, Silenus defies the ban on his magic-using and saves himself and his beloved! But-- wanted for crimes by both the Wizarding World and the Muggle World-- what will become of them now?

What will become of them is an amazing series of adventures through time and space as the two elude their fates-- though always pursued by that nefarious duo, Algernon Potter and Lord Alfred Douglas!
