About
The Brothers K are a four-member band: Alexei (Alyosha) on vocals, Ivan (Vanya) on guitar, Dmitri (Mitya) on bass, and Pavel (Pasha) on drums.

As the name of the band implies, the four are indeed brothers, after a fashion. They share the same father, although they had three different mothers. Only Vanya and Alyosha are "true" brothers. Born in Russia, they emigrated to the USA as children. Their father died shortly after their arrival in the States, and the brothers, who had no other family, were given into the custody of the state. At this point they were separated. Mitya and Pasha were sent to an orphanage, while Alyosha and Vanya lived in a series of foster homes.

Once the brothers were all of legal age, they found each other again and took up residence together. None of the brothers attended college. They were obligated to find work upon graduating high school. They supported themselves by working odd jobs, and they squatted in abandoned homes and factories before they were able to afford a tiny apartment. The brothers had always been musical, and they began to practice together in their spare time, eventually landing gigs in local bars and clubs. With little money and no connections, it seemed likely that they would languish in obscurity, but a chance meeting with a music journalist (Grushenka) who was impressed by their work helped them land their first contract.

The band's resulting eponymous debut startled the industry with the unlikely hit single "Angels & Avatars". This was followed by a second album, Angel in the Depths, released to critical acclaim.

The brothers are private people, and they give interviews only occassionally. This inaccessibility gives them an air of mystery which intrigues their fans all over the world.

Just who are the Brothers K?
